“Our show is titled ‘Why We Tell the Story’. We told our story in hopes that other young artists pursue their artistic goals fearlessly, and nurture their talents despite any struggles to recognize their potential. And, that others around young artists are inspired to support them in any way possible.” - Sanah Tahiliani at Sacramento Theatre Company, November 2018.

At age 17, Sanah made her directorial debut at Sacramento Theatre Company in November 2018 co-writing, co-directing, co-choreographing, and co-producing a musical for the Curtains Up! Fundraiser. The story highlighted the benefits of arts education on youth, speaking from her own experience and the experience of her collaborators. The fundraiser raised close to $100,000, with the money going towards student scholarships and programs such as Sacramento Theatre Company’s School Partnership Program, which make arts education more accessible to students of all ages. Since then, Sanah has taken her creative intuition and attention to detail to the screen in New York City.

“There is no one I trust more as my DP than Sanah Tahiliani. Not only does she execute my thoughts well, but she improves upon them. Her work ethic is enviable and her presence on set a joy. I could not and would not have made my film without Sanah Tahiliani.” - Dedrick Kendis
